SodaStream is a unique holiday gift that would be terrific for someone who is making an effort to live a green lifestyle. SodaStream home soda-making machines allow you to create sparkling water or soda from regular tap water in a matter of seconds. All of this is done by injecting CO2 gas without the use of electricity. SodaStream machines come with reusable BPA-free containers, which allow you to bypass the cans and bottles that contain traditional soda. This helps the environment by reducing the waste you are contributing to landfills, as well as reducing gas and pollution from shipping packaged beverages. There are over 25 flavors of regular and diet soda to choose from, as well as flavors for seltzer or sparkling water and energy drink.

SodaStream sent me a home soda maker to try out. I was amazed at the ease with which I could create my own soda. You simply need to attach your reusable container to the machine and push the button to add the carbonation. You then add your flavoring and you are done. It is great how you can choose the level of carbonation for your beverage, depending on how many times you press the button. The soda flavors were really good, and each soda mix bottle makes the equivalent of 12 liters (about 33 cans) of soda. SodaStream regular soda mixes contain no high fructose corn syrup and diet flavors do not contain aspartame. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the reusable carbonating bottles kept my soda from going flat. I really like the idea of how environmentally friendly SodaStream is, and that you can use the machine without electricity.
